Lee's Hamburger
May2007/LeesHamburger.jpg

Lee's recently set up shop in the Mojo location on Metairie Road (in the Zeke's/Byblos strip).  I hadn't had a Lee's burger in ages so thought I'd pick one up after a trip to the hardware store.  It was 11:30 when I walked in and ordered a single "with the works" burger.  Twenty minutes later I walked out with the burger and several apologies from ONE of the five people behind the counter.   They were all working furiously but somehow my #4 ticket was duplicated by a another #4 phone  order.  Anyway, the burger was juicy, good, and not a bad deal for $4.00 (including tax) considering that they grind their own meat (according to the guy I talked with), form it by hand,  cook it fresh, and I could only eat half (it's a hefty burger).

One odd thing -- a guy ordered a burger without onions and was told that they were cooked with onions and he'd have to scrape them off.  Considering that the griddle guy was just a few feet away I can't figure out why they wouldn't accommodate the request.

I didn't order any but the onion rings looked delicious.
