Frenchman Anne Henry Jules Alexandre Bonnabel came to New Orleans around 1830 where he married Irish born Julia McCarthy. They had eight children including Henry Adolph Jules (pictured) and Frederick Eugene Alfred. Frederick's son Alfred (1874 – 1961) is considered the father of education in Jefferson Parish.
