 The Halfway House Orchestra
took its name from the dancehall so named because it was located halfway between the city and the lake on the New Basin Canal
at what was most recently the Orkin building near the cemeteries at the end of Canal St. Band members included leader Albert
“Abbie” Brunies, Sidney Arodin, Leo Adde, Albert Brunies, Charlie Cordella, Bill Eastwood, Glyn Lea "Red"
