A closer view can be seen here of The City of Carrollton in 1849. Carrollton was incorporated as a Jefferson Parish town
in 1845 but had been a part of Jefferson Parish since its creation in 1825. It served as the seat of Jefferson Parish government
until 1874. Upperline and Lowerline Streets were so named because they served as boundaries of Carrolton. (Courtesy of the
