On this 1893 map we see two race courses. The one north of Metairie Road was the Metairie Race Course (which was described
earlier) and is now Metairie Cemetery. The course below was the Oakland Riding Park which become the property of the New Orleans
Country Club in 1912 and was converted to a golf course. Like the cities of Carrollton, Jefferson, and Lafayette they were
